Economic impacts of infrastructure investment with different funding mechanisms: evidence from Guinea-Bissau

This study aims to analyze the economic impacts of infrastructure investment in Africa, focusing on Guinea-Bissau economy. Through a dynamic CGE model, we find that natural resource revenues (or aid)-funded investments generate externalities increase factor returns. The private improvements propagate effects GDP and job opportunities outcomes. Household income consumption were positively impacted, though poorer benefited most. inequality has reduced. However, funding by mix debt direct taxes produces opposite effects. We suggest potential pro-poor growth agenda Africa.
